Stage 1075
For a century this address was a movie house. The Imperial Theater opened in 1912 under David and Sid Grauman, became the Premiere in 1929, the United Artists in 1931, a Loew's in 1970, and ended as the Market Street Cinema, which closed in 2013. Two pieces of the new building carry that history forward. A stained glass window from the Grauman era was refurbished and installed across a full lobby wall, and forged hollow steel rings by local blacksmith Daniel Hopper extend between the fourth and eighth floors as public artwork referencing the old marquee.

What I would ask about Stage 1075The lobby glass and the exterior steel rings are commissioned pieces rather than standard building parts, so ask who is responsible for maintaining and insuring them and whether that obligation appears in the reserve study.
