Lone Mountain is a residential hill in west-central San Francisco, built around the University of San Francisco's campus. It's a quieter, leafy neighborhood with views from the higher blocks, a mix of students and longtime residents, and an easy reach to the Richmond, NoPa, and the Inner Sunset.

People who want a central, residential west-side location near a university, with reasonable value and good access to multiple neighborhoods, parks, and transit.
Housing types
Edwardians, classic flats, single-family homes, and some multi-unit buildings, especially closer to USF. The campus influence means a meaningful rental component in parts of the area.
Transit and commute
The 31 Balboa and 38 Geary are a short walk, the 5 Fulton skirts the park edge, and the neighborhood is central enough to reach much of the city quickly. Practical transit by west-side standards.
Parks, food, coffee, and local anchors
The University of San Francisco campus, Rossi Playground and pool, the food and shops of Geary and Clement nearby, and quick access to Golden Gate Park and the Panhandle.
